Fox & Friends Live at Daytona 500

  While Owner Steve Bolek and I were in Daytona promoting the great Pit Crew Barbeque products and meeting with NASCAR Legend Jeff Hammond we were contacted by Fox News. Seemed they wanted to do some Live Video from the Infield and have us Tailgating while they did the Weather and Interviewed NASCAR Drivers for their morning show "Fox&Friends".

With a Grill from J-Mack Cookers we set up a great Tailgating Spread on the Infield with Chicken Marinaded in our Bloody Mary Mix and Garden Herb Chicken Rub and well as lots of Vegetables and more. The morning was cold but the Grill was hot and we had warm friends with us.


So we tailgated the morning away in between Live shots with Michael Waltrip, Carl Edwards and newly NASCAR Hall of Fame Inductee Junior Johnson who loved the BBQ Chicken. For more Photos and Videos from our trip to the Daytona 500 click the Gallery Link to the Left.

BBQ for Our Troops: Ft. Hood "Community Strong" Event

We here at Pit Crew Barbeque and BBQ for Our Troops are happy and somewhat amazed to announce that the "Fort Hood: Community Strong" Event is fully funded with a week to spare. An amazing amount of donated goods and volunteers from around the Country have poured in to make this a very meaningful and wonderful day for the entire Base. There are scheduled to be almost 85,000 people attending and there is over 185,000 Main Meal Portions to go around. Great work folks!

A few folks we'd like to thank would be the Fort Hood USO for their coordinating the event and Gatesville Fire Department for being a Donated Good collecting point. The gracious amounts of meats are coming from the good folks at Tyons Meats and the Texas Beef Association with BBQ Rubs, Sauces and more donated by McCormick's, Texas Rib Rangers, Pit Crew Barbeque and Knox Spice Company. We'd like to thanks all the good folks in the BBQ Community, TheBBQForum.com, Char-Broil, Jeff Hammond of Fox/Sports and the Great Americans from around the Country for the quick and generous donations.

NASCAR Legend Jeff Hammond Joins Pit Crew Barbeque

 I cannot tell you good folks out there how honored we all here at Pit Crew Barbeque are to announce that Jeff Hammond is our new Business Partner and "Face of the Brand". Jeff started in NASCAR as a Tire Changer, Two Time Champion Jack Man and Three Time Champion Crew Chief with DW.

Jeff Hammond took time from his busy schedule at Talladega to come out and visit the Pit Crew Barbeque Competition Team and myself while we were competing in the $50,000 DegaQUE Competition. The Team took a 11th Place Pork against 108 of the best teams in the Nation. That's pretty darn good!

After spending time with the Team to see how we were doing Jeff gave us a Pep Talk only a NASCAR Legend Crew Chief could do. Thanks Jeff for the time you spend personally with each Team Member and the inspiration you gave us.

Mr. Hammond said for me to call him "Jeff" at which I replied "Yes Sir". So now he and I are on first names bases. He calls me Mike and I call him Sir. I gave Jeff his very own DeagQue Hat as a free parting gift. How come he signed hats for the Team but didn't ask me to sign his hat? I think I know the answer.
